There are few honors more magical than earning a glowing spot on Santa’s coveted Top Nice List—a special category reserved for children whose kindness, character, and creativity bring a jingle to the hearts of everyone they meet.
This week, The Tinsel Post was granted an exclusive pass into the Candy Cane Lounge at Santa’s Village to meet with a few of the standouts from the start of the June Nice List: three young stars who continue to inspire elves and Earthlings alike with their good-hearted deeds.
🌟 INTERVIEWEE #1: Aanya Kapoor, 8 – Jaipur, India
Deed of Distinction: Launched a neighborhood “Kindness Chain” where neighbors performed good deeds and passed them on like a tag game.
🧝♂️ Jingle: “Aanya, tell us where you got the idea!”
Aanya: “I saw someone online leave snacks for delivery people and thought, ‘What if we all did something kind and passed it on like a challenge?’ Now we’ve had over 40 acts of kindness in our neighborhood!”🧝♂️ Jingle: “What’s been your favorite moment so far?”
Aanya: “One person gave flowers to a teacher, and she cried because she’d had a rough day. That made me feel warm like cocoa!”🧝♂️ Jingle: “We’ve seen elves hanging candy canes from your neighborhood trees!”
Aanya: “Yes! They’re so sparkly. I think they’re saying thank you!”
🌟 INTERVIEWEE #2: Diego Martinez, 10 – San Diego, USA
Deed of Distinction: Created a summer reading buddy program to help younger kids in his neighborhood with literacy skills.
🧝♂️ Jingle: “How did this project get started?”
Diego: “I was bored the first week of summer, and I thought about when I used to struggle with reading. So I asked my mom if I could make reading groups at the park!”🧝♂️ Jingle: “And what do the younger kids think?”
Diego: “They love it! We read under a big shady tree, and I bring juice boxes. They think I’m like a teacher… but cooler.”🧝♂️ Jingle: “Scout Elf Tinsel Merrymint says your reading sessions are ‘positively peppermint-powered!’”
Diego: “Tinsel is the best! She leaves me bookmarks made of candy cane wrappers!”
🌟 INTERVIEWEE #3: Naomi Watanabe, 6 – Tokyo, Japan
Deed of Distinction: Volunteers with her family to collect plastic from city parks and repurposes it into art installations that raise awareness about the environment.
🧝♂️ Jingle: “Naomi, your art has even been featured in the Snowflake Gallery at the North Pole!”
Naomi: (giggling) “I made a dragon from bottle caps and bubble wrap!”🧝♂️ Jingle: “Why is helping the Earth important to you?”
Naomi: “Because animals and elves and people all live here together, and it should be clean and happy!”🧝♂️ Jingle: “How do you feel when you see your work on display?”
Naomi: “Like I drank fizzy soda—but in my heart!”
🎄 ELF COMMENTARY
Scout Elf Dabble Merrybuckle, head of the Nice List Notification Bureau, shared his excitement:
“ We’ve seen an impressive rise in community-based acts of kindness this season. Aanya, Diego, and Naomi show us that being nice doesn’t require magic—just heart, creativity, and follow-through.”
🎅 SANTA’S STAMP OF APPROVAL
“ The world shines brighter because of kids like these. The elves and I are humbled by their joy, generosity, and sense of wonder. Keep being brilliant!”
With the summer season in full swing, The Tinsel Post will continue highlighting more of the kind-hearted kiddos making the world merrier. If you or someone you know deserves a spotlight, don’t forget to drop a message in your local elf’s mailbox!
